Focus on what is working:

That one thing, two things or many things you don’t have in your life right now, also, the people that are missing in your life is what you are mostly possessed by. Our minds are trained to focus on what’s not working in our life than what is

Who taught the mind that? Maybe past impressions, incidents, society, genes… There are so many things, situations, and people to blame.

Instead of going down that rabbit hole of blame, let me ask you this question. What are you here for? Are you here for the transformation or are you here for giving excuses and blaming while holding onto the past?

Attitude of gratitude:

2020 the year of the pandemic has raised many questions about life, about our existence, as well as about our values and principles. Make this the year where you will not just shift your lack of perspective and scarcity mindset, but also challenge yourself to bring to surface all those feelings and emotions of fear, self doubt, and judgement that you were asked to hide or were ridiculed for. No matter what has happened in the past you are in charge of creating a more authentic, truthful present for yourself.

There is no such thing as too much gratitude:

This Universe has enough for everyone’s needs but not for everyone’s greed. Be aware of what you ask, and ask with a sense of gratitude as if you already have that.

"For me gratitude is not only a way of genuinely acknowledging some people, things and places, but also a way of being and living every moment with the humble knowledge that everything around me is just as miraculous and powerful as I AM.”

When you feel a deep sense of gratitude to learn to love and appreciate everything as it is, the concepts of good and bad, right and wrong, lose their value and suddenly you’ll find genuine appreciation even in your hardest times.

Gratitude will teach you to love

yourself deeply and fully
:

No, I'm not asking you to use gratitude to cover up your dark emotions and feelings. What I’m really asking you is to train your mind to focus on all that you already have and will continue to have, instead of focusing what your mind automatically focuses on––the lack of, or what’s not working in your life.

Gratitude is not a chore:

I have to admit that there was a time in my life growing up when giving thanks became a mere ritual. So for many years I did it more like a mere chore than actually feeling it. Very quickly, once I became aware of its mediocrity, I started to shift and amp my practice.

How to be grateful:

Remember gratitude is not what you begin and end with. Gratitude stays with you all throughout. There is no such thing as too much gratitude. Every single day I take 3 pauses in my day to say a quick gratitude prayer.

MORNINGS–as soon as I wake up I thank God for giving me this fabulous day and a new life again so that I can serve the divinity with the best of my ability. I say thanks for any pain, ache, discomfort I may feel as I know deeply that discomfort is also God's way of telling me that I am here. It reminds me of my humanness and allows me to stay humble and grounded.

AFTERNOONS–I take a couple of minutes to gaze into emptiness and be grateful for all that I have done or not done so far. I ask questions of gratitude such as:

– How come I’m so grateful suddenly?

– What have I done that I feel blessed and lucky all the time?

– Why am I so rich and wealthy?

There is tremendous power in asking these questions to the mind. They are deep levels of food for thought for our ever restless minds.

NIGHTS–before bed I do a mix of things. Some days I write down three things I’m grateful for. Some days I write down the 10 miracles in my life. Some days I feel more disturbed and I write deep emotional letters to God. But mostly I send a prayer of gratitude for all the highs and lows, and express love and gratitude for my life.

What practice will you imbibe today? How do you plan to combat and train your restless mind to stay on track and in alignment with your purpose and intention?
